Concurrent Enrollment
Concurrent Enrollment in Jeffco
Concurrent enrollment allows students to enroll and earn college credits while still in high school. Jeffco Public Schools students in grades 9-12 can enroll in their home high school and in a community college within the home school service area. Concurrent enrollment benefits students by:
- Lowering the cost of college.
- Increasing the flexibility of academic options.
- Increasing access to college coursework.
- Preparing students for college.
Concurrent Enrollment at Bear Creek
The Concurrent Enrollment (CE) program provides high school students the opportunity to earn tuition-free college credit through Red Rocks Community College for high school courses they are currently taking at Bear Creek.
To be eligible, students must be scheduled into a CE course at Bear Creek High School. Students must complete all the admission and registration requirements of Red Rocks Community College, including the online college application, applying to and authorizing the College Opportunity Fund (COF) and submitting the CE agreement form.
Some courses may require students to meet prerequisites and test scores. Many of these courses are guaranteed to transfer to other Colorado higher education institutions and may transfer to out-of-state universities or colleges.
For additional information, please refer to Bear Creek’s Postsecondary Opportunities, as well as Jeffco Public Schools’ Concurrent Enrollment and Dual Enrollment webpages. Students may also check with their counselor for more information.
*In accordance with Colorado Statute 23-18-202 (5) (c) (I) (B), student name and state ID number will be shared with the institution of higher education.
