String & Chamber Orchestra
When the BCHS Orchestra began, only 11 string students were enrolled in the program. With dedicated leadership and instruction, the orchestra program has grown tenfold over the years.
BCHS now offers two classes in orchestral instruction, offering more individualized attention at each level. String orchestra offers entry-level musicians the opportunity to learn skills necessary to play more challenging pieces, while chamber orchestra allows advanced musicians to continue to be challenged with the music they need to excel.
Students receive specialized instruction from professional orchestral musicians who perform with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, the Colorado Bach Ensemble, operate as some of the most sought-after freelance musicians in the Denver area and are former college professors.
The BCHS Orchestra attends the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) Festival and American String Teachers Association (ASTA) Festivals annually. The BCHS orchestras consistently receive “superior” and “excellent” ratings at festivals. Our chamber orchestra was selected to perform at the 2020 ASTA State Festival as one of the top orchestras in the state.
Congratulations!
Congratulations to the chamber orchestra for a successful concert with Judith Galecki, cellist, Colorado Symphony Orchestra, and Colorado Christian University Chamber Strings, benefiting Sources of Strength and helping to raise over $11,000!
The performance was wonderfully received and the community raised more than the goal to kick off the Sources for Strength program here at BCHS!
